Q - question

Adding selected numbers in drawing texts - counting numbers (GrSelNum).

A - answer Using the freeware utility GrSelNum you can easily add up numerical values from selected texts in AutoCAD DWG files (drawings).

After you download (www.cadstudio.cz/download) and load (APPLOAD) the application, type the command GRSELNUM and click the individual texts containing integer or decimal numbers. Finish the selection process by pressing ENTER after the last clicked text. The application supports single-line and paragraph texts, texts and attributes in blocks (references, insertions) and numerical texts in tables. In combined texts (text + number), the number is extracted automatically. The value with the total sum can be inserted back to the drawing as text. The text will use the properties (layer, size...) of the first clicked text entity.

You can influence the result display by setting some LISP variables:

(setq GrSelNum_resdp 4) ;result decimal places - rounding
(setq GrSelNum_prefix "") ;result prefix - e.g. "TOTAL: "
(setq GrSelNum_suffix "") ;result suffix - e.g. " kg"
