Q - question

Easily find CAD/BIM document references (including missing ones) - Reference Explorer

A - answer A new feature of the Autodesk Desktop Connector (see Download) - Reference Explorer - quickly finds all external references from the specified CAD document and marks any missing files of these references. The function can be launched from the local menu of your Desktop Connector - see the Reference Explorer function. Then just drag the main (host) file into the Project Explorer window. All common CAD and BIM formats are supported - AutoCAD .DWG, .DST, Inventor .IAM, Revit .RVT, 3ds Max .MAX, Fusion 360, Solidworks .SLDASM.

Demonstration of use on a sample Inventor .IAM assembly (with two IPT files intentionally removed):

Example of use on an AutoCAD or Civil3D .DST file (project sheet set):

xrefs

Or a .MAX file:

xrefs

Desktop Connector will use the same reference detection when uploading a complete document (all related files) to cloud storage - just pass the main document to it.
