Q - question

How to convert font and shape files SHX back to SHP?

A - answer To decompile the binary compiled fonts and shapes from SHX files back to their source format SHP, you can use the Express Tools DOS application dumpshx.exe (see the subfolder Express).

Run the app from DOS command window with the syntax of:

dumpshx -o outputfile.shp inputfile.shx

see:

dumpshx -?

E.g.:

dumpshx -o simplex.shp simplex.shx

To recompile again a SHP to a SHX, you can use the AutoCAD command COMPILE.
