How to get the outer dimension text closer to the extension line?

A - answer Horizontal (resp. parallel) position of the dimension text on an outer dimension is influenced by a combination of two dimension parameters, variables:

To make the red offset smaller a get the dim.text closer to the extension line, decrease the sum of two variables: DIMGAP and DIMASZ. If the DIMASZ inadverently resizes your dimension arrows/ticks, redefine them as a block.
