Q - question

How to include hydrostatic pressure to my FEM simulations?

A - answer Standard hydrostatic pressure (steady) can be simulated in the CAE application Autodesk Simulation, or in its cloud version Sim 360. For more detailed analysis of fluids behavior you can use Autodesk Simulation CFD.

In Autodesk Simulation, use the function Setup > Loads > Hydrostatic Pressure and enter the parameters of Fluid Density, the Point on Fluid Surface) and the Surface Normal of Fluid (direction of gravity).

For general shapes of wall surfaces under hydrostatic pressure you can specify the Pressure Type: Normal to the surface, Full pressure in horizontal, or Horizontal component only - see the picture:

For FEM calculations in Inventor Professional you can approximate this analysis type by dividing the vertical surface of the "flooded" volume to bands and apply increasing pressure by their depth under the water level.
