How to scale CAD objects vertically only?

A - answer The easiest way of a Z-axis scaling is to copy the 3D objects to clipboard (Ctrl+C) a paste/insert them back as a block (PASTEBLOCK). Then change the Z-scale property of the pasted block using the Properties palette (Ctrl+1).

See an example of a sphere+cube scaled in Z:
