Q - question

Import Inventor 3D models into Revit.

A - answer There are several ways to transfer 3D models of parts and assemblies from Inventor to Revit. Besides the DWG format (exporting 3D model from Inventor, opening it in Revit), the ideal format for this conversion is the file exchange format ADSK (Autodesk Exchange, available since version 2010).

You can export .adsk files from Inventor with AEC Exchange (IPT,IAM). The resulting .adsk files can be imported in Revit using R > File > Open > Building Component and saves as RVT files.
