Q - question

Move dimension text in AutoCAD context menu.

A - answer In newer AutoCAD versions, some users are missing the "Move dim text" function (text alone, with leader) previously available on the right-click menu at a selected dimension.

This functions is now accessible through multi-functional grips on dimension objects - just hover your cursor on a dimension text grip and choose the requested Move operation in the grip menu:

If you insist on the original functionality in the contect-menu, add the missing functions to this menu with the AutoCAD CUI command - by dragging from the commands list to the tree Shortcut Menus > Dimension Objects Menu:

You can lookup and use the commands:

  • move with leader
  • move with dim line
  • move text alone
  • home text
  • centered
  • above dim line
