Which files are used by Inventor to save my models?

Unlike Mechanical Desktop which saves all information to a single DWG file, Inventor uses several file types:

.IPT (ParT) are files with individual parts of your model/assembly
.IAM (AsseMbly) are assembly files
.IPN (PreseNtation) are pictures and exploded assemblies
.IDW (DraWing) are resulting 2D drawings
