Q - question

Render error: The following render appearance images are missing

A - answer If you render a Revit scene containing your customized materials and Revit displays the error message "The following render appearance images are missing", it says that Revit render has not found the textures (images) referenced from your newly defined materials.

Add the path (paths) to your images using the dialog R > Options > Rendering > Additional Render Appearance Paths > +. The "+" button adds a new path to the list of searched folders.

If this path setting won't help, try to convert the texture (raster image) to a simpler file format (PNG, BMP).
