Rendering CAD assemblies in various formats in 3ds Max 2016.

A - answer Since versions 2015, Autodesk applications use a common engine for translation of foreign CAD formats. The ATF engine (Autodesk Translation Framework) is used also in 3ds Max 2016, and so it newly supports also loading and rendering or animating of assemblies in non-Autodesk CAD file formats, e.g. from CATIA or SolidWorks. You don't need to have the particular CAD application installed.
