AutoCAD 2012 reads IPT, IAM and IPN files from Autodesk Inventor in its associatove model documentation view functionality (the command VIEWBASE).

Since version 2013 then AutoCAD imports Inventor's IPT and IAM models also in its standard function IMPORT - so it imports them as native 3D models (non-associative solids) into DWG.

AutoCAD Mechanical works with Inventor IPT files since version 2004 DX, with IAM since version 2006.
