Q - question

Some layers are listed with light blue background. Why?

A - answer If your "Layer Properties Manager" palette displays some layer names with a light blue background, it indicates that this layer uses overridden properties in the current viewport. The blue background is applied not only to the name but also to any overridden property column.

So the layer properties (color, linetype, etc.) might not be the same as the properties from the modelspace - see the command VPLAYER. The blue background mask is one of the indicators of the special behaviour of the given layer in the current layout and viewport.
