Q - question

Starting Fabrication CADmep 2014 in another AutoCAD - desktop icon.

A - answer If you want to start CADmep 2014 in another AutoCAD installation, different than that the CADmep shortcut was initially created for, you can tweak the AutoCAD runstring.

E.g. you want to use CADmep inside of your AutoCAD MEP 2014 environment, not AutoCAD 2014. You can always load the module CADmep19_1x64.arx manually but you can also make a copy of a desktop shortcut (icon) to launch AutoCADu MEP 2014 including CADmep.

Edit the properties of this new shortcut to:

  1. to the Target, add the following - /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014\AecBase.dbx" /p "AutoCAD MEP (Global)" /product "MEP" /language "en-US" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Fabrication 2014\CADmep\CADmep19_1x64.arx"
  2. rewrite the Start in to - "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Fabrication 2014\CADmep\"
  3. you can also change the Comment field
