Why does AutoCAD perform a zoom when closing the Block editor?

Whenever you close the Block Editor (BEDIT), AutoCAD performs a zoom to an area close to the drawing origin (0,0) and you have to find again your original view. How to get rid of this behaviour?

Switch off the variable UCSFOLLOW (i.e. set it to 0). This variable controls (among others) also the zooming when terminating the block edit mode.
