Hisorry to bug you people but I'm looking for some help.I need to build an accurate 3d model of parts of London, UK. I have managed to obtain DSM data from the environment agency for the UK from their open data resource:http://environment.data.gov.uk/ds/survey/index.jsp#/surveyI'm trying to use 3D Map to convert this data into a form where I can read heights or convert it to some form of 3d format that I know how to use (dwg/3ds/obj for example)The data is in .asc formatI've tried to follow instructions on the autodesk knowledge base about how to import ascii files but I'm not having any success. This is what the .asc file looks like when I open it in notebook:ncols        2000nrows        2000xllcorner    520000yllcorner    170000cellsize     0.5NODATA_value  -9999 53.360 52.750 52.620 52.640 52.610 52.650 52.680 52.570 52.530 52.530 52.450 52.490 52.440 52.460 52.890 53.070 53.080   etc.can anyone give me some guidance on how to use these files to produce either a color coded height map or a 3d mesh of some sort ?many thanks

Yes, you can import ESRI Grid files into Map or Civil 3D. Go to Display Manager and click Data > Connect To Data. In the Data Connect window then select Add Raster Image or Surface Connection in the Data Connections By Provider list.

Thanks ! that worked :-)Can you tell me how I can read height data from the imported files ?For example, is it possible to create a 3d colored height map from the imported map ? Or alternatively can I export the file as a 3d surface mesh that I can use in Autocad ?many thanks again...
