My 2012/13 AutoCAD Civil 3D Freezes when selecting text and Dimensions.... But ONLY when the properties box is up! It is driving me crazy I have been looking for solutions but have found none that have worked. So I decided to try posting my problems.

Thanks in advance.

Both programs exhibit the same behavior?

What font is being used?

Are both programs current with all service packs?

When did this problem first rear its ugly head?

yes both 12 & 13 do the same thing, using a standard font (Arial)

Service packs up to date. It has been around for a while. some days worse than others. now it has become debilitating.

20+ people in the office running 12/13. I am the only one that is having the problem.

Just reinstalled 2012 with no correction. But again only happens when PROPERTEIS is open...

I don't run Civil 3D so I suppose there is no sense in asking to see a sample drawing.  Not sure what could be causing the problem.

Are you running anything else in conjunction with Civil 3D like some sort of add-on?

Do you use any lisp routines?

Have you made any customizations to the CUI?

Turns out it was a microstation infection creating thousands of linetypes. Making the drawing bloat.

No fix for 2012. hotfix (DGNPurge) available from Autodesk for 2013/2014.

You are wrong.  There is a hotfix for AutoCAD 2012.  I saw it at the AutoDesk website today (11:57 a.m. EDST).

A link to get you started in the right direction:
