Many of you have read about our space at Pier 9 in San Francisco. "We're focused on making it as easy as possible for people to go from having an idea about something they want to create to making that idea a physical reality. Helping them go from design to fabrication is where Pier 9 comes in. It was designed as a place where we could explore and create better ways to connect the 3D model in the computer to the digital manufacturing machines that make it real in the physical world. We're also addressing some of the difficulties associated with that process, refining our CAM products, and better connecting our products to machines like 3D printers, water jets, and CNC machines." Simply put, our CEO knows we'll have a better appreciation for what our customers do with our software if employees actually build things using our software. Not one to talk the talk without walking the walk, Carl and fellow employees have been spending off hours working on an electric gokart with Carl's son Willie. IMAGINE Some Autodesk 360 renderings using our latest top secret Cloud Rendering beta code named Project ProofLab: DESIGN
CREATE ENJOY
It's great to see something imagined, designed, and created using a digital process. It's not just a company slogan — it's a way of life. Carl recently talked about the experience at MakerCon 2014. Carl will be sharing his experience at Maker Faire tomorrow. Thanks to Technical Assistant to the CEO, Arthur Harsuvanakit, for the pictures and videos. Thanks to Senior Architect for Rendering, John Hutchinson, for the Project ProofLab renderings. Thanks to Senior Product Manager for Showcase 360, Chris Ruffo, for the picture captions.
