When I slice a 3d solid a cube is created around both sides of splice. How do I turn the cubes off?

A cube?  What exactly are you slicing?

Not in plain AutoCAD.  I just tested it.

Joestmann and John, this happens to me sometimes when I want to subtract a cube from an other volume to create a slash cut; in fact AutoCAD does the slash cut but also add the cube to be subtracted to the initial volume.
Then it's not possible to subtract that added cube that is part of the initial volume.
I tried in an other file and it was the same.
An other day I tried to extrude the initial volume an other way ( in the same file ) and the subtract was OK, why I don't know !!!
