Hello:

I am using Architectural Desktop 2006 and I need to draw structural members (columns) with different dimensions than the default.

So far, I have been lead to the "Style Manager" feature where I sucesfully create new styles, but there is no place where I can actually input the dimensions I need to.  I creat, for example, a new structural shape definition and it creates a square by default, but I don't know where to tell it that it has to be 12"x12".  When I right-click it, the "Edit" options is unavailable.

Thank you for your help

Try tipping "AECCOLUMNCOVERADD", I don't know if this command styll works on ADT2006 (it does in ADT3.1).

Hello:

Thanks Frederico.  Unfortunatedly, that command is not available anymore in ADT '06.

However, I did manage to work things out.

I did not realize that in Format/Structural Members/Member Shapes..., when selecting a shape, I had to go to "Design Rules" and then select the previously drawn figures that correspond to each level of detailed view .

You have to previously draw one closed shape for each low-, medium- and high-detail views.  Once you have this, you can then asign the newly created shape to the newly created column and voilá!

Thanks again
