I downloaded an image from this forum about 3 hours ago and it has changed something in the drawing that I inserted it into and now plots my drawing with the 'educational version' watermark even though I am using the full version of cad.

I cannot remove this and I don't know what to so as I don't want to loose all the information I've just been working on. I've audited and purged. I've tried copying and pasting my other information into another drawing file and that just corrupts other files. I've tried to dxfout and back in again which doesn't work either.

Is there anyone that knows how I can remove this?! :(

Audit, Purge, and Copy/Paste will not solve your problem.  DXFOUT or SaveAs > DXF might work ONLY if you save to a R12 file format.

As soon as any content created in an educational version is used in a drawing created in a commercial version of an AutoDesk product you have basically infected the drawing.  I am very surprised you did not know this.

AutoCAD 2015 (or the free DWG TrueView) will save your DWG files with EDU stamp removed. Which block from the library is EDU-stamped?

it was the bike rack drawing
bicicleteros.dwg
bikestand.dwg
It was one of those two above...and I'm not opening then to find out which one. But it caused quite a problem here.

Luckily there was a backup but lost half a days work. we don't have autocad 2015 yet. Haven't encountered this problem before but I will definitely be sure to read more carefully and avoid EDU stuff like the plague!! What a headache!

You should scan your drawing files to make sure there are no others infected.

I think DotSoft or ManuSoft has a lisp routine called EduScan that can do the trick.

All AutoCAD versions warn before inserting/opening EDU "plagued" DWG files, except 2014 sp1. But you can easily re-save your DWG file in the free Autodesk DWG TrueView 2015 application removing the EDU stamp.

Who wants to bother opening every single one of their drawings to see if they have been infected or not?  EduScan does the job quickly and efficiently.
