Having just moved to ACAD LT 2015 (from AutoCAD Architecture 2010) I might have missed a few stages in AutoCad's development but I cannot understand why pressing the escape key doesn't end a command. Is there something that I have failed to tick in Options or is there something even more basic that I am missing here? Or is my software just not performing properly?
Regards
Stephen

The ESC key does indeed cancel a command.

You don't happen to have Photoshop, or another Adobe program, on this computer do you?

Thank you John; that would certainly seem logical. What happens if it isn't? Is there any way I can redress that or should it simply not be happening?

There are a couple of other possible causes but I think your software is fine.  Don't go nuclear and try an uninstall/reinstall as you'll just be wasting your time.

Thank you; the fact that I also can't seem to access (to edit) previously created text by double clicking it, does seem to indicate that the problem might be elsewhere.
Many thanks for your responses

That could just be a problem with the setting for DBLCLKEDIT.

How many other problems are there?  Might as well list them all.
