Hi,

I'm using AutoCAD LT2012 and whenever i double click text to edit, it takes about 20 seconds before the edit text screen appears, however, if i type DDEDIT then the text editor appears immediately (as it should do)

Has anyone else encountered this problem? I am at a loss to explain.

What have you done so far to troubleshoot the problem?

I originally thought my title block was corrupted so i removed that and tidied it up but still nothing, i've purged and audited the drawings but still nothing, i've also tried changing the text style, still no joy. What confuses me even more is the fact it works properly by going through DDEDIT but try and double click it and it takes an age :(.

This is not limited to a single drawing, it's happening on every drawing i use unless it comes from an external source which leads me to think something i have is causing the problem, i just have no idea what else to do.

Thanks for replying by the way :)

A (less than ideal) workaround would be to use Command Alias ED / Enter.

Have you installed all service packs?
