I am receiving a command line message "please wait: formatting text" while autocad 2000 regenerates after a zoom. Any Idea why? it doesn't seem to matter which font I am using or their location in my files.

From what I've read so far there is no definitive answer to your problem although many people suggest it is somehow related to the use of TrueType fonts.

Can you upload a copy of one of your drawings so it can be independently tested?

By the way, any chance that Microstation fonts have been used in any of these drawings?

That was it, I was using Copperplate Gothic Light a great font for viewing but a  true type font. I changed to simplex as a test and regens were back to normal. I am no longer using true type fonts. Thank you

I'm not a big fan of TrueType fonts and I hate it when I get a CAD drawing that has a handful or more in them.  We are creating drawings not advertizing pieces or packaging or media campaigns.  Drawings should be clear, concise and uncluttered.  It's the content (design) that should matter not the font we use to create the spiffy looking titleblock and border.
