Hello,

Using AutoCAD 2004. I would like to display the total length of a polyline in the drawing as a dimension, so that if I edit the polyline the displayed length automatically updates. Is this possible? TIA.

NB This is not the same as the straight line dimension between the two end points, which is shorter!

Edit the dimension's MTEXT and insert a field (selecting the polyline object)

Robert,

Thanks but I don't think that's a feature in ACAD 2004.

Ah, yes. Fields were introduced in 2005.
