I am looking for a set of installation disks for inventor 2005. I have a serial number and a stand alone licence, but my old computer is dead and I can't find my disks. autodesk says they can't help with that.

No surprise there; AD would rather you shell out another $5000+/-.

The program cannot be downloading LEGALLY.  As for someone having a set of disks you might have better luck asking over in the Inventor forum at the AutoDesk website.  Maybe you'll get lucky.
