Hi Folks.

I am looking a for an old fashion block for a standard Dump Truck, Plan View, non rendered nor 3d.

I looked in the Cadforum and all I can find are those that are in 3d and rendered. When I did a search in the Cadforum for 2d blocks I came up with side views. I need top view for a site plan.

I tried exploding the rendered 3d block and ended up with a mess.
Civil 3d 2015 in use

Thanks a head of time

If you still have the 3D block try either the FLATSHOT command or BASEVIEW (a.k.a. - VIEWBASE).  Block will extract 2D views of 3D models with one difference.  FLATSHOT will create a 2D block in model space; BASEVIEW will create a 2D block in a layout.

OK...I don't think my advice is going to help.  Turns out most of the 3D models here consist of polyface meshes.  I know a guy who creates some fantastic 2D drawings of many, many types of vehicles including construction equipment and in most cases he provides front, rear, top and side views (both sides).  The downside for you is you would have to pay for the drawings.  I'm not sure that's something you want or even need to do.

When I get a chance on Monday I'll see if I can find a 2D drawing (plan view) for you.  Got to go now....things to do, people to see.  Bye.

Free blocks available here one of which is a dump truck.  I can't vouch for the quality of the work but it might be worth checking out.
