The Autodesk Office of the CTO has a small team dedicated to Applied Research and Innovation. Team members Maurice Conti, David Thomasson, Evan Atherton, Heather Kerrick, and Nick Cote are investigating/experimenting the area of generative design, robotics, and the internet of things to keep Autodesk on the cutting edge of what future versions of our technology solutions should provide. Some of their efforts involve the study of how humans and robots can collaborate in effective ways. Check out the HIVE Project as an example of their work. In the case of humans and robots working side by side, one can easily see that the human's ability has been augmented by the aid of the robot; however, there are many more overt and subtle ways that our abilities are and will be augmented via computing. Find out how.

Recently Maurice gave a TEDx Talk in Portland entitled "The Future of Human Augmentation."

So now you know you're really an augmented cyborg.

Actually, Maurice is no stranger to TED Talks. Here's an excerpt from John Oliver's Last Week Tonight where the topic was scientific studies:

Augmentation is alive in the lab.
