Just started a new job, the previous designer did everything manually. I've been instructed to find the best software, currently working in Auto CAD 2017. I work for an irrigation company designing agricultural and commercial layouts, ranging from 1/4"-12" lines, with variable levels of pressure.

Here's the question, Will CAD or any other program assist me to track components used as well as flow rates and friction losses? I know how to do the math, but if I could program in the specs within the software, so all I have to do is select the corresponding layer and draw my line work it would save me tons of time. Any help on this would be appreciated.
