Back in the early days of Autodesk Labs, the Google Earth Extension for AutoCAD-based applications was a popular technology preview.

This technology preview has ended. It was replaced by the Geolocation feature that is built into AutoCAD and its various flavors, e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D.

I learned from the AutoCAD Blog that there is a new plug-in in the Autodesk App Store for those who want to work with Google Earth as they did when evaluating the technology preview:

The earth is alive in the lab.
