how to make multiple copies of an object that will align automatically to an spline with equal spacing?... ex. A circle will be multiple copied with equal spacing but aligning to an spline.

Command  MEASURE (inserts points or block by exact distance) or DIVIDE (divides a curve inserting poitns or blocks to a number of segments).

Try Array rather than copy.  When asked for distance, pick the points.

But ARRAY can't align objects to splines and curves in general, but only makes rectangular matrix or circle.
