Direct Link To This Post Topic: editing block attributes
    Posted: 10.Dec.2008 at 22:48
Hi everyone,

I am using AutoCAD 2008 (full), and am becoming very frustrated while trying to edit a block.  The block is a symbol (circle) with one attribute (a number) which corresponds (but is not attached to) information in an excel file.  There are about 400 of these blocks in my drawing, all with different numbers.  My problem is that the block was drawn (not by me) with large, orange text, and I want it to have smaller, black text in our company's font.  I have gone into the block editor and changed the block, but when I save it and go back to the drawing the blocks are still all the same.  I can go into each individual block and change the attribute appearance, but I really don't want to do this.

  Any help?

When you change attribute in block definition, the change take effect only for new inserted blocks. For taking effect on existing blocks too you have just to synchronize the block - command  BATTMAN or ATTSYNC, then it'll be OK.
I'm sorry for my bad English. Kackac

Hi Kackac,

Thank you - attsync worked!  I can't believe it was that easy...
