   hi, I have a doubt and i dont really know the diference.
when i insert a fully defined block (with all layers and linetypes) is better to insert it "by layer" or "by block" i create a layer for the block usually without lineweight.
can someone explain me if theres any diference between these 2 options?

	The BYLAYER setting for block components means - inherit the properties from the layer the block is inserted in. The BYBLOCK setting for block components means - inherit the properties from the properties of the block (block reference/insertion). So if you have a block inserted in the layer LAY (colored green) and you assign it (Ctrl+1) the color red, a line (in the block) with the color BYLAYER will be green and a line with the color BYBLOCK will be red.

	thanks ... but choosing by layer or by block will this affect the weight of the cad file? i decided to ask this because my autocad file got to slow and takes about 30min to open and i think its because of all the blocks existing (mainly trees) thats one of the main questions i forgot to ask

	No, there is no difference in speed. Look rather at the layer filters or excessive annotation scales - see the tips.

	ok. thank you for the help, i'll search the for the layer filters or excessive annotation scales. thank you
