Ok, thank you for clicking on the link, first of all. Now let's get into more detail. Ok so I have this group project to do. It's mainly about what you would do if you can run a government. So what I am trying to do is build our own large city on Autodesk Inventor, but I am a noob. But what I have realized is that I can download ipt files or whatever files from other ppl so that I can then regroup them to make it a large city.
I need like buildings and such [you know, like NEw York City and stuff] Liek buildings, libraries, schools, town center and such.

also I need to animate us at first zooming into the enourmous city and then going through some of the main buildings, such as the presidents house [i don't even know if our government is going to have a president or not, then school, then hospitals and such important bbuilding.]
so if any1 has such ipt files or animated files that show an entire city or parts of buildings pls post them here.
thnk u so much.

I doubt Inventor is the right tool for this. And you'll probably not find any building models in the IPT file format.

There are building models (real buildings) in the Google Sketchup warehouse and you can save them into 3D DWG with Sketchup Pro.

There are special tools to build a model cities - e.g. Autodesk LandXplorer.

Agreed, inventor isn't the best program for this type of work, I mean it can be done, but inventor is primary function is to do prototype 3D drawings for parts mech/elec/civil. Rivit Architecture CAD program is what you want specifically because of the building type function you need.  Of course you can pretty much do anything on the others.

wow thnx guys u guys r awesome and im so far loving this site. just to let u know i also have 3ds max and i am guessing that wouldn't work either. i did find a site that has models for 3dsmax [link below] but they all cost money [alot]

so i should be buying Autodesk LandXplorer for my project? And after I do, do you know if I can get the files [models] online for free?
