Topic: Viewports "opacity"? Posted: 04.Apr.2009 at 15:49
I want to place small viewport above main viewport in layout space, but I don't want drawings in main viewport wich are behind new/small viewport to be visible?

You can go to your Viewports toolbar and "Clip existing viewport" Clip your main viewport so where you lay your smaller one nothing in your main viewport show's underneath it.

10x you msplcdykee69 - OK it's working solution, but if I want to move small viewport to other place later, I have to clip other place from main viewport... this is not deadly hard work, but I think there's have to be some option you to say "I don't want this viewport to be transparant"... may be I'm wrong?

What exactly are you trying to accomplish with your viewports? May help pin point what exactly is the best way to help you. I do Civil work once I make and clip viewports I have no need to move them. If you could give me an example of why you may need to move might help one of us on here help you better...

I done my job at this time using your intructions.
I'm placing one of my small viewport above main viewport with presumption that there is nothing important in main viewport behind small viewport. I'm clipping main viewport and everithing is OK. But later in project process presumption that there is nothing important in this place in main viewport appears to be wrong. At this point I have to move small viewport to other place and CLIP MAIN VIEWPORT again. If there is some option you to say - "I don't want this viewport to be transperant" about small viewport, then the second clip-process can be be economized.
