I have resolved this once before and cant remember how i did it.....!

I have a block that contains a rectangle and a paragraph of Mtext, when i explode the Block, the Mtext explodes into individual lines and the rectangle into 4 lines.

I know you can explode the Block but retain the Mtext/ rectangle in their original form, whats the variable or setting i have to change ?

thank you

further to my post, i have fouind it seems to only apply to one drg (that i've found so far), i have opened  other drawings with the same block in and they retain the mtext , etc when exploded.  It seems something has happened to all the block within that one drawing that has affected them all, . If i create a new block on that drawing, then that again, when exploded retains mtext, etc. So what has happened to all the existing blocks that makes them not respond to Refedit or be explodable without everything becoming a single entity.? i havent come across this before....

Have you tried the burst command. This will explode the block you select but all mtext, associated dimensions, associated hatches, and nested blocks will remain.  As far as this happening to every block within your drawing, the only thing i can think of is that before exploded a select similar command was done.  I hope this helps.

no i havent because explode is the one that works (normally) futrther to th epost above, this morning all blocks on that drawing once again when exploded break into their bits, but again new blocks created now explode into Mtext and Rectangle. So it muct be something to do with this drawing loading or something....any ideas..?

What do you think using BEDIT command to manage better?
