problem: xrefs are 'not found' even though i've 'visretain'(ed) and saved and repathed.  after re-opening file xrefs are still 'not found' under status column of xref dialog.  also a message located on bottom of dialog says verbatim: "Nested reference selected: Cannot change path, name, or type."

help!

Hey.
This is because the xref file is xref'et into one of the other xref'er you have in your drawing and they are set to attach instead of overlay. If you open your xref files and saves the correct paths here, so you should be out of the problem. But even better if you open all your xref files and put their xref files to overlay then they are not "pulled" into your drawing, and now you do not have nested xref. Smile

best regards
