Good day everybody?

I have an client that has a very rear problem with Auto CAD 2009 specifically.
She had an power supply failure and it has been replaced on her computer, since that her AutoCAD gave a really strange problem. Her AutoCAD works perfectly until she clicks on her application menu. (The big red "A" in the left top corner). It freezes completely and needs to be shut down in the task manager. This happens every time she clicks on the icon. She can work perfectly with all the other functions except when she clicks on that icon.
I have updated all the service packs and even reinstalled the package.

Has anyone else had such an problem or could help me with an solution with this?

Kind regards,
Innes

There could be several reasons for this since she had a bad PS.  I would look at replacing memory first then video card and see if the problem goes away.

AutoCAD uses lots of memory to start up and the other programs may not use as much to start and that is why it is only having trouble with ACAD.

If this doesn't work you will need to systematically start replacing other items that contain memory (i.e. processor or motherboard) and one of those should fix the problem.

When you have an issue with power supplies or surges you run the risk of damaging more that one might suspect.
