Hi all, is there any way to specify a new material globally in Inventor 2008? To have it stored in file and be able to select it any time for any .ipt file. I can only create new material for one part (.ipt file) but I must define it again for another .ipt file. Thank you for any suggestion.

You must have a read/write library enabled for the project, then after you create the new style you must save it to the CC. In Inventor 2010 all of the commands are on the Manage tab on the Styles and Standards tab. On 2008, I think it is on the same drop-down as the CC editor. Mojo

I have encountered problem with connection to CC. However, I found tricky workaround.
When I create new material I save it into that special xml file. Then, when creating new part I import that xml file in Styles Formatting dialog which makes the material available in materials list on File \ Properties dialog. |

It sounds like Vault is the culpret, you may want to run the instalation disk and do a repair.
