i have a 2000 verision of autocad and rino ver3 but i can not open a .cad file any help please

I gather your trying to open a Rino file with AutoCAD?  Although I don't know any thing about Rino I would say to Try "Save-As" in Rino and check to see if you can save as a .dwg file.  Make sure you can save the file as the right version of AutoCAD.  The file must be .dwg to open in autocad.

no, im trying to open a .cad file. i have nothing to open it with so i can not change it.

From a little research, I've found that .CAD is a file extension for a program call CadStd which is a small cad program for doing house plans.  You can download a free version from CadStd.Com that will open your drawing.  You will have to save it as a .DXF then import it into autocad.
Hope this is what your looking for.
