Can anyone explain how to sum up alot of area polygons in autocad 2007 LT?

This seems like a *really* basic function of a CAD program, but I can't find it.

If you have, say, hundreds of different sizes of polygons and want to find the total area. How to do it?

Any small add-onn apps that can do it?

thanks for any help : )
