|
recently i received a drawing file from a structural engineer. he has Autocad 2010. i use Autocad 2006 LT. while working in the file, each time i saved the drawing.....it would not save to my drawing file....but to a temp file.
this has created a big problem. Is there a solution? |

Tell him to re-send it to you in R12.dxf. Make your changes then save back to 06'. Doing that will eliminate any weird crap in the 2010 file not supported in your 06 version. Then tell your manager this would be a good reason to upgrade! |

another problem: survey drawings with the "Z" axis. How do I eliminate the Z, so my autocad commands work.......such as "fillet", "extend", etc.

command 'flatten'. Or, actually, your fillet and extend commands prolly wont work because the lines you see as x and y are actually comming out or in on the z axis, as you said. Maybe use 3d rotate and see what there actually connecting too, then the basic fillet and extend commands should work.

"flatten" is a LISP routine and will not work in LT. Have actually tried changing the Z axis to "0"....in the Properties edit box. Time consuming

You can also use the following macro instead of the Flatten command:
