Morning all!

This may seem like a dumb-ass question (and forgive me if it is!)...

The background of this version of AutoCAD is white...  Is there a way to change it to black? We ran a trial of 2011, which I really liked, but my employer won't front the money for it (I'm not complaining). So we're on 2010 and modelling in 3D is very clear.

Am I doing (or not doing) something silly? How can I change the background?

Thanks for any input and, again, I apologise if this is a silly query...

No reason to apologize, it is a perfect question.

You can either use the OPTIONS command (Display tab > Colors button) or the environment variable "Background" (verbatim, uppercase "B"). See e.g.:

Thank you very much... Sorted that...

Sorry to go on, how do I change the way AutoCAD displays solids?   I only started playing with 3D 2 weeks ago and still learning the intricacies of it all...

Display of solids- "shademode"

Since you're trying to learn about solids, get familiar with "help" (F1) function :)
