Could any please help we are running Autocad2009Lt on 6 worksatations we have recently moved on to a new server and now the cad locks up a regular set times for 1-3 sec. If we unplug the network cables the problem stops. The new server is running with Norton antivirus and the workstations are running on XP. Could anybody please give us any idea how to stop this. Our IT chap wants to reformat the PC and reinstall autocad. We are trying to avoid this as everybody knows getting cad how you like to use it is a long drawn out process.

Many thanks Manor 1972

Since unplugging the network cables solves the problem, this is obviously an issue with the server, not with your PC's. It doesn't take an IT guy to figure that one out. There is no reason to reformat your computers and reinstall Autocad. This will be a complete waste of time. The first thing I would do is disable the anti-virus and see if that fixes the problem.

Had the same problem here, it was the firewall, maybe you can look in this direction...

Grts!
