What version of Autocad are you running?
If you're running a newer version, you should have a "DWG to PDF" option available in your plot dialog. Use that and also choose the "Monochrome.ctb" plot style. Or you can create your own plot style: http://www.ellenfinkelstein.com/AutoCAD_tips_plotstyle_colordependent.html
There are also free pdf writers available online. Cutepdf is a good one.
