I found this answered by someone for 2007, don't know if anything has changed for 2011...
"Unfortunately with LT you don't have the best tools to accomplish this. You can't use LISP routines, and you don't have the Enhanced Attribute Editor. Your best bet is to use Quick Select. In the Object Type specify: Block Reference, and then on properties select the "Name" option , on operator select equals, then on value select the name of the block you want Hit OK and it should select all the blocks and report how many it found on the command line. You can use the
ATTEXT command or the block schedule function in Xanadu LT Extension.

Hi
I had the same problem a while ago and solved it with attaching attributes to my blocks then creating a template file in order for the attributes to be extracted (ATTEXT) to excel and a simple VCOUNT command counted all the attributes relating to the specific block in excel.
hope the above helps,
If it is what you are looking for I could explain in depth on how to go about it
Regards
CS
