"It's [still] in the cloud, man."
Rob Cohee, Autodesk Manufacturing Technical Evangelist

The Inventor Optimization team, a.k.a. Project Centaur, updated the technology preview to version 4. Check it out man.

This update now makes the technology preview available worldwide.

The enhancements in this update include:

  • The compression algorithm for communicating data with the cloud now uses fewer resources.
  • The animate feature is faster and consumes less memory.
  • Mobile users can shutdown Inventor or even their machines after starting an optimization. Once the optimization is complete, they just open the document, enter the optimization environment, and the results are waiting for them.

Please put this technology through its paces with your designs and let us knwo how it works out: labs.iv.optimization@autodesk.com. We look forward to hearing from users worldwide.

Expanding technology previews to other geographies is alive in the lab.
