AutoCad 2008 LT. Just starting up learning and using Working in Model tab. Followed instructions for use of Design Center to copy a designated layer from Source to Target. Tried both Add Layer(s) option from menu and drag-and-drop to Target. Both Source and Target have same scales, units, drawing limits and grid (on). The copied layer then appears listed in the Target's Layers Manager, but the drawing object (even a simple shape, say, a red rectangle)does not show up in the Target drawing. The newly added layer indicates it is turned on/unfrozen.
Obviously I am missing something very simple, but having a layer show up in the Target drawing without any apparent content has me absolutely stumped. Dead in the water. Any help appreciated. Edited by gclark - 22.Feb.2008 at 19:35 |

You are probably copying only the layer (layer definition), not its contents. You might try copy/paste or WBLOCK/INSERT to transfer the drawing entities.
