I am trying to change some shortcut commands in the ACAD.PGP file (such as c is copy instead of circle) and it is not being picked up by AutoCAD.  Ihave tried rebooting but it still does not make the changes.  I have AutoCAD 2011.  Please help anyone!!!!!

Try typing in REINIT at the command line. Select the "PGP File" checkbox, then click ok.

For what you're doing, I don't think the CUI editor will work.

Do you have EXPRESS TOOLS (ET) installed. If not, you should definitely install them ASAP. ET has a visual command alias editor that works like a charm.

In your Menu Browser, go to: Express > Tools > Command Alias Editor...

This will show up:

Here is a good tip on using it:

Might I suggest the "old" way of editing this file?  Open acad.pgp using any ASCII text editor.  Windows itself comes standard with one.  It is called Notepad.

I think that was her original method, that may be why it wasn't recommended already. Smile

Perhaps she wasn't using an ASCII text editor OR she forgot to save her edited pgp file.

there is a pgp editor in auto CAD 2011.  That is the only thing that works... not changing the PGP file in the support directory like i use to do.  Thank you to all that responded.  This forum has been so very helpful
