When I turn on Dynamic Input (Autocad LT 2011), (all else being off)  the cursor movement becomes unbearable, as if I had grid snap on....WIn 7, 64 bit, 6 gb ram 3gh CPU...any suggestions other than not to use it would be appreciated.
Thanks...
Doug

If you can envision it, there's a real good chance I can draw it.

Is hardware acceleration enabled?  If so try turning it off and see what happens.

What is your WHIPTHREAD setting? I believe 1 is optimal, but give each value (0-3) a try and see if any of them make a difference.

Good Luck!

I would suggest that the setting of WHIPTHREAD (default = 1) has no affect on his erractic cursor movement.

Ok. Just a thought. No harm in trying since it does have a lot to do with the performance of AutoCAD on systems with performance issues.

Again...we disagee.
WHIPTHREAD might have some affect on ZOOM with regards to regens and redraws and only on multi-core systems.  WHIPTHREAD has no affect on single processor computers.  If a user has a halfway decent machine I'm not even 100% sure they would notice if WHIPTHREAD was disabled altogether.

So What! Geez. What's with the argument? If it doesn't work it doesn't work. What do you care?

Again, I was just throwing it out there as an option. As I said before NO HARM in trying it. I don't know if the OP has a single core computer. do you know if the OP has a single core computer? Because I never heard him say whether he did or didn't.

BTW, if the OP is running "WIn 7, 64 bit, 6 gb ram 3gh CPU" then most likely the computer was built within the past few years, in which case the computer is more likely than not to have multiple cores. Hell, my computer is a 2.2GHZ, was built in 2004, and it has 2 cores. So to completely ignore the variable would be doing the OP a disservice.

The "arguement", as you call it, is that WHIPTHREAD would have no bearing on cursor behavior.  Good, bad or indifferent.  It's like throwing a party hat to a man who is drowning.  No relavence.
